The Controversy of Biography: Between Authenticity and Fabrication

Abstract

In 2022, Hassan Bzaienia, a professor of Islamic Studies at Tunisian university, published a book titled Fitnat al-Sira wa Ma'arij al-Ibhar: Ayyam Muhammad al-Akhira li-Hala al-Wardi Namudhajan (The Controversy of Biography and the Ladders of Dazzle: Hala al-Wardi's The Last Days of Muhammad as a Case Study). In response to the book Les Derniers Jours de Muhammad (The Last Days of Muhammad), written by Hala al-Wardi, Hassan Bzaienia dedicated this important and methodical book to addressing Hala al-Wardi's work, approaching the biography of the Prophet Muhammad with scientific rigor and academic standards. Bzaienia's book serves as both a direct rebuttal and an introduction for anyone seeking to engage in the writing of the Prophet's biography with scholarly integrity.
