Towards a New Reading of What is Called “Villa du Zodiac” or the Castle of Mussolini in Bou Argoub

Abstract

A very important document about agricultural colonization in the “Cap Bon” which was known for its grapes- that document is a property document of Garcia family which was an Italian family. Mr Garcia build a wine press and a big castle with its 1930 s architectural style and it’s now a historical monument of that period. It was designed by the Italian architect “Kiyarini”. That castle was nit built to welcome the italian leader Mosolini but it was known on the castle of Mosolini because of its high and splendid design.

That castle was given as a gift to Mosolini’s daughter who was married to a French man. Inspite of the political conflict between the French and the Italians on the social level the relation was good between them in the Cap Bon and especially in Bou Argoub. It was a peaceful relation.

This monument should be maintained in order to preserve it and it should be included in the touristic path in the region.
